Proposition 8

The song Waiting on the World to Change from my play list-- "me and all my friends we are all misunderstood"... there are those who would say we are intolerant toward homosexuals because we think that marriage should be between a man and women.   Tolerance should be a two way street.

Tolerance:   the quality of accepting other people's rights to their own opinions, beliefs, or actions  (online dictionary)

Respect:   It is possible that a confusion between the different meanings of respect affects the attitudes of people and organizations. For example, freedom of religion implies that we must respect the right of anyone to believe whatever they wish, to act within the law in accordance with their beliefs, and not to be discriminated against on account of their beliefs. However, the use of the word respect seems to have shifted our attitudes towards the quite different notion that we must behave respectfully towards their beliefs, and not criticise them. This is a restriction on freedom of speech, and is inherently hypocritical—anyone with any view on religion must necessarily believe that those who believe differently are deluded, although their rights must be respected.   The distinction between the two meanings can be shown by paraphrasing Voltaire: "I totally disrespect what you say, but absolutely respect your right to say it."  (wikpedia)

(I talked about respect in a May post,
after the California Supreme Court overturned the majority vote.  Click here to read.)

Marriage should not be a government issue.  It is a religious, moral issue.  I expect Tolerance and Respect for my religious beliefs.  By forcing me to accept gay and traditional Marriage on equal ground takes away my freedom of religion.    Like it or not... I do believe that Marriage is a Divine Institution and is only between a Man and Women.   Let me uphold the values I believe in and please do not call me intolerable because I do.

"Waiting On The World To Change"

Me and all my friends
We're all misunderstood
They say we stand for nothing and
There's no way we ever could

Now we see everything that's going wrong
With the world and those who lead it
We just feel like we don't have the means
To rise above and beat it

So we keep waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

It's hard to beat the system
When we're standing at a distance
So we keep waiting
Waiting on the world to change

Now if we had the power
To bring our neighbors home from war
They would have never missed a Christmas
No more ribbons on their door
And when you trust your television
What you get is what you got
Cause when they own the information, oh
They can bend it all they want

That's why we're waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

It's not that we don't care,
We just know that the fight ain't fair
So we keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

And we're still waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting waiting on the world to change
One day our generation
Is gonna rule the population
So we keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

I am not waiting; I am making my voice heard by voting on Nov 4.  Please make sure you are registered to vote.  We all need to get out and vote-- the world is changing!   Please do not sit at a distance, vote and be heard!
