Jens is a Danish name and is a form of the Latin name Johannes which is John in English.
The Hebrew name Jens means God is Gracious. (wait- Jens is a Hebrew name?) What does John mean... Hebrew name meaning the Lord is Gracious. There you have it! Got to the bottom of it.
So I looked back in my Archives to see what I put down for the meaning of John. I was surprised... I did not do one! So here you go John-- you and Jens are the same.
Jens is my nephew, son of Kristen and Nielson (my brother). He is 2 years old today. If I was to describe Jens in one word it would be-- gleeful!
6 months-- July 2007. All smiles!
Aug 2008-- Nielson picks me up from the airport. Jens never stops grinning in the back seat.
His grins envelop his whole face, they reach from ear to ear and make his eyes sparkle. You look at him and just have to grin... you grin until it hurts.
Same day, boating and he is still grinning.
