Happy Birthday Jared!

Jared is Hebrew meaning descending

Disclaimer-- the birthday boy in question was not interviewed for this post.   The questions answered are all hearsay.

Jared is my brother-in-law, he is married to my sister Marlo.   He is 32 today!  Now Jared is the only brother-in-law that I got to know before he became member of our family.  He would bring me plants for my little space.  Why would he bring me plants?  His parents have a large piece of land that Jared had cultivated in to a lush garden.  Plants need to be thinned out and those starts or bulbs, whatever is was,  he shared a few with me.  Those were kind gestures as he was giving me something he valued.  Besides he was courting my sister!  So exactly why does Jared hang out with the plants?   They smell good, they don't talk back, he can meditate...  As a teenager he was given the job to keep the weeds off the land around his parents home.   He did not like pulling the weeds (who does) and decided that if he planted flowers he would not have to pull all those weeds.  He used wildflower seeds... and up they came and there is where Jared's love of plants started.  A great vacation for him includes a visit to a nursery and a souvenir would be a rare plant or two.  He graduated with a degree in Horticulture.  Today he works for Scott's-- you know the fertilizer.

What about his yard today?  It is a jungle oasis in the middle of the searing heat of California! He is keeping a significant number of bees happy.  His yard blooms with flowers, trees, and shrubs of many varieties!  Here is a small sampling!  These are his October blooms.

Jared is the father of 4 boys and a girl.   His boys adore him.    I like this picture I borrowed from my sisters blog.  Look at Kaden's eyes-- yes he adores his dad and is trying to be just like him.
Happy Birthday Jared.   Have a good one!  I know you already celebrated this past weekend.  Bummer that you are out of town on business for the week---the things you have to do sacrifice to put food on the table.   Speaking of which... we have enjoyed that food also.  Thanks for being my sister's significant other!   We are happy that your paths crossed and even better that she can be my closest family even though you are still 4 hours away!   You should really work on closing that gap!   It is not good for sisters to live so far apart!   But at least she blogs so I can keep up on the family and it is the only way I get to see Kaden smile.  Well Happy Birthday, have a great one Bishop, and we'll be seeing you when we see ya!
