Karalene's BROWNies!

Warning:  Very Chocolatey and way better then any boxed mix.  Proceed with great self control as to not regret having eaten the whole pan.   In fact, you should give some away to avoid the above scenario.
Yes, that good!

Karalene's BROWNies--

3/4 cup of baking cocoa
1/2 tsp baking soda
2/3 cup butter melted and divided
1/2 cup of boiling water
2 cups of sugar
2 eggs
1- 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1-1/3 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
(not any of the milk chocolate crap-- you will ruin them!)

1- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease 13x9x2 inch baking pan.

2- Stir together cocoa and baking soda in a large bowl; stir in 1/3 cup butter.  Add boiling water; stir until mixture thickens.  Stir in sugar, eggs and remaining 1/3 cup butter; stir until smooth.  Add flour, vanilla, and salt; blend completely.  Stir in chocolate chips.  Spread in prepared pan.

3- Back 35-40 minutes or until brownies pull away from sides of pan.  Cool completely on wire rack.  Cut into bars.   About 36 brownies.

The tricky part... eat only one a day. (they freeze well)  More than that, do not call me when you start spreading in the hips!  I am released of all liability and you are on your own.  And if you made it with milk chocolate then you deserve any spread you get- because you should not be wasting calories on inferior products.   And that goes for the substitution of margarine... you do that, then just go make a boxed mix, don't ruin my recipe.

thanks for sharing your recipe... Brianne will have fun making them with me... Hmmm who should we share them with? (gotta come up with a plan now, before we make them, so I don't eat them all)
