Fat Suckers sighting

Many years ago when Jordan was a cute little boy, Scott and him camped at Portola Redwoods and encountered raccoons.  Since then they have been called "fat suckers" at our home because of the wobbly walk and large gut.  We have had many encounters with them at night in our backyard.  Rumor has it they crawl up through the street drains from the nearby arroyo.  Other then a chewed up nerf ball and excited kitties- they have not caused us any problems- they are just funny to watch.    At 6:40 am today I was pulling out of the driveway, taking Jordan to seminary, and there was a fat sucker walking from the neighbors house into our backyard.  Had Jordan go close the Patio door in the back of the house.  Did not need 3 kitties and a raccoon having a tizzy fit through a screen.  We then proceeded on to seminary and as we got over a few blocks there were two fat suckers lopping down the street in front of us.  So we drove real slow, watched and laughed.  They eventually went on to the lawns and then crossed over a fence-- escaping the Tahoe beast that was crawling up on them.    Never seen a raccoon out in daylight-- I wonder if the heat affected their nocturnal habits.   Did a little research-- found that a raccoon in the day could be a sign of illness.   Since I saw 3-- I will just chalk it up as they were enjoying the cool morning.  Smart fellows they are.  Click on this link  to see a funny video-  Raccoon steals a floor mat!  God has a sense of humor-- giving the Raccoon a mask. :)
